The Air Forces Memorial at Runnymede

During our visit to Runnymede, we noticed a huge building on the hill overlooking the Thames. On the map in the parking lot we discovered that it was the RAF memorial to over 20,000 peoplo who died serving during WWII and have no graves. We hiked up to the top of the hill throught he forest and saw the beautiful monument.

It was a fitting memorial to all of those heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice.

It is a very moving place and certainly worth the climb.

I hope the photos give a little idea of this special place.
