Some Things About Me

I was just catching up with friends on Facebook and saw that my cousin Ellen had posted 25 wonderful and random things about her and I thought it would be a good idea. Here is what I posted:
1 : This was inspired by my lovely cousin, Ellen.2: My ancestors risked life and limb to move to the New World so they could live life on their own terms. About 200 years later, I had to move back in the other direction for the same reason.3: I love my family dearly and wish visits were more often.4: I hope we get the house in West Ruislip. It was former Military housing built in 1926 and it's beautiful.5: I work too much and don't play enough anymore and intend to change that soon.6: I am very happily married and he is too.7: I love to read anything I can get my hands on. I am a recovering book hoarder and now believe that it is better to donate them to the charity shop around the corner to pass on the joy. 8: I love old ladies and the wonderful stories they tell me. My great grandmother, Mama Ludie, was the world’s greatest story teller. 9: I have always been very lucky to have amazing people around me and have some of the most amazing friends scattered around the world.10: I like who I am and know what I have to share with the world has value. That took a little while to figure out. 11: I should write a book about my life experience. I'm not sure anyone would believe it but it would be one hell of a storey.12: We lived in Spain for a short while. The Canary Isands, off the coast of North Africa. While there, we rescued a house from thieves, climbed a volcano and got robbed on the highway driving back to England. Told you it would make a good story!13: Everywhere I go; I want to visit the local churches. I think that tells a very special part of the local story. I have said prayers many churches older that my home country and probably one that Christopher Columbus would have been in before he sailed west. Rural England has some of my favourites. I played the bells in a church tower in Epping Forest. The song was "All Things Bright and Beautiful" 14: I am a new great uncle and think that my nephew is an incredible dad. 15: I am confused by the concept of the Christian Right. 16: I grew up with severe asthma and it's sneaking back, probably because I'm not taking the best care of myself and that sucks. 17: Last year, I almost lost Simon due to a stupid misdiagnosis. The only thing that stopped me from punching the doctor was the possibility of getting kicked out of the country. Everything is fine now and I can't imagine my life without him. 18: I worry about the economy.19: I have the same routine every morning: coffee(large soup bowl with handle), computer is this order - Outlook,CNN, BBC, LloydsTSB, Hotmail, Guardian, TFL to see if my train is running and Met Office Weather. After this, I can start to have a conversation and move on the 2nd cup. 20: I have had my identity stolen twice. The first time they got about $15k and the second they got $20k.21: I get great comfort from making Southern things in London like Ice Tea and cornbread. 22: I have started a little Harris Tweed collection of things I find in Charity Shops in London. Don't tell Simon since we really don't have enough closet space.23: It makes me very sad to talk to my Daddy and know that he is struggling to breath. 24: Love and Hate London at the same time. 25: I walk by Harrods every day on the way to work and don't want to go in and shop because of the current owner. Thanks fore the idea Ellen!
